Great Place To Call Home

Why Illinois? If you are looking to relocate whether it be for business, retirement or education, Illinois has it all.

In 2007, MONEY Magazine voted four towns, Libertyville, Lisle, South Elgin and Woodbridge, as "Best Places To Live." If that doesn't impress you, check out what else makes Illinois a great place to call home.

What's Not To Like

Diverse Geography - Illinois is the most populous state in the Midwest. It is a balance of widespread suburbs, the great city of Chicago, rolling rural areas, agricultural activity and industrial sections. If you are a city slicker or country bumpkin, you will find an area to suit your style.

Abundant Energy Resources - High production and reserves of coal and nuclear energy make energy resources stable for years to come.

Public Safety - Every year, Illinois becomes a safer place to live. Statistically, crime rates have fallen for the past ten years even though the population has increased.

Affordable Housing - According to the Illinois Association of Realtors, the average housing price is $200,000 which makes it an affordable place to own a home.

Education - Whether it be quality public, private or higher education you are looking for, Illinois has it all. Public elementary, secondary and high schools have exceed the standards in reading, math and writing tests on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). Private schools are diverse including Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Lutheran, Islamic, Seventh-Day Adventist and Montessori. Illinois boasts 48 community colleges and ranks 5th in the nation for the number of institutions of higher education.

Recreation - From parks and bike trails to museums and pro sports, Illinois has it all. Because of the diversity of the state, you can bask in the beauty of nature or see all the sites of bustling Chicago.

Opportunity - With an abundance of incentives for small and start-up businesses, Illinois is a great place to do business. If it is job opportunity you seek, insurance companies, hospitals, laboratories, universities are the biggest employers.
